WHAT IS SOUND HEALING?

Sound healing, also known as sound baths, is an ancient practice that uses sound waves and vibrations from instruments to promote healing in the body, mind, and spirit. The instruments such as gongs, tuning forks, singing bowls, chimes, and Drums (to name a few) are tuned to specific frequencies that match frequencies in the body. The person or people being treated partake in the experience with a trained practitioner.  Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for healing.

How Does It Work?

Also known as Vibroacoustic Therapy, sound healing uses frequency vibrations to increase cellular movement.  This results in higher energy levels, increased mobility and reduced pain and inflammation.

Sound Baths help to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment.  Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. The vibrations can shift brainwaves from beta (normal consciousness) to theta (relaxed consciousness) or delta (sleeping) states. Sound healing can also incorporate vocal sounds and tones.

What Does it Feel Like?

A sound bath is a meditative experience during which a single or group of people lie down and listen to resonant sounds. The echoing sounds fills the room and it feels like an internal message.
